Enquiries

When you request a quote, we store your name, email address, project type and project notes so Understory IT can respond. Please do not submit passwords, payment details or other sensitive information.

Website enquiry records are retained for up to 90 days. If email notifications are enabled, an enquiry copy is also sent to our business inbox; email correspondence is managed separately from website retention. A successful form response confirms that the website saved your request, not that an email reached an inbox.

First-party traffic measurement

We count page views and phone, email and quote-link clicks on our own server. Analytics records contain an event type, page path, time and broad source category; they do not contain your name, email, message or IP address. The script does not set analytics cookies or assign a visitor identifier. The referring website origin is kept in session storage for the current browser tab, then reduced to a broad source category on the server to attribute an enquiry to its entry source. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals disable optional client-side event collection.

Event records are retained for up to twelve months. These counts are not a count of unique people and can include automated traffic.

Security and service operation

Web servers and security systems may log IP addresses, request details and browser information to operate and protect the service. Enquiry rate limits use a keyed hash of the connection address. These operational logs are separate from aggregate analytics.
